Two days after the cops confiscated the box, a big scary dude knocked on Twyla’s front door and questioned her about a delivery. Twyla played stupid, just as Ambrose instructed. She had video of a front yard full of police and the box being unpacked. So did others. Folks had lined up across the street watching the drama unfold. Like sportscasters, they know how to get close enough to capture footage, yet far enough away to stay out of the game. If he went snooping it would be the same replay on everybody’s phone. He left in a hurry, probably thinking it best if nobody knew he was associated with the box of beans.
